Before setting up my home network with a Linksys
Cable/DSL router, I was able to access the settings in my Westell DSL modem by going to 192.168.1.1. Now, when I type that IP address into my browser, it pulls up the Linksys setup screens. If there's a way, how can I still access the DSL modem setup screens again? The reason I'd like to be able to access those screens is because my connection has a tendency to drop to very slow speeds, and by accessing the front page of the DSL setup screens, I can see at what speed I am connected.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem when I got DSL and tried connecting my Netgear router to the DSL modem. Both were setup to use 192.168.1.1 What I did was disconnected the router from the dsl modem and ran the connection directly from the modem to the computer. I logged in to the modem control panel and changed it's IP address to 192.168.2.1

Now my router is 192.168.1.1 and the modem is 192.168.2.1 I think you can do the same thing on your router if you want instead of the modem.

Good Luck!
