I have a windows XP home edition PC which i am trying to connect to my Office server through a VPN link. The server is a 2003 Server with Small Business Sever SP2. From my XP home pc, i can connect to the server through the VPN and ping devices on the remote network but i am unable to connect to shared folders on the 2003 server. Could anyone please advise what i might be missing. Thanks

How are you trying to access the shares? Does your company permit connections from home computers? You should check that with you IT department before going further.

Thanks for the response Jennifer. The remote access policy permits share access based upon user login. I am using a valid login authenticated by the server to enable the VPN tunnel. I don’t believe the issue is with the server setup as I have other remote users accessing via VPN with no problem, they are all using XP pro. The problem lies with access from the XP Home pc to the share on remote server. I’m sure its something to do with XP Home but not sure where to look. Not a lot of help on ms technet unfortunately.
