accessing network G:\drive folders

Specs: Windows XP
I'll try to be brief.
1. A user clicks on there g drive icon
2. The browser pops up with G:\ in the browser. But no folders.
3. The day before they were able to see the folders.
4. I recreate new shortcut on their local drive. Now the new folder i created on their desktop works.And, they see the folders.

-The path is \\\sts$
-They have the permissions to access these folders

Am I missing something...Help.

When you say shortcut are you saying a Mapped Drive or a real short cut? Should do drive mapping instead of shortcuts.

If it persists then try seeing if it is an DNS issue by using the servers IP address in the UNC pathing as apposed to the FQDN.

\\\sts$ - or what ever your servers IP is.

If it is a DNS issue then give us a little bit on how you have their local NICs configured and how you are doing DHCP.
