I have a Linksys BEF11S4 Wireless access point router through which I connect to the net and to my office network. The problem is that both my networks require static IP's. One starts with 11.10.*.* and the other with 192.168.*.*. The net is connected to the WAN port which has DCHP while the LAN is connected to port 1. If I want to use my office network, I have to change the IP from automatic to a static IP to access the LAN. Is there anyway I can access both simultaneously without any need of changing my IP to access the office LAN?

Simple. Disable DHCP on the router and give it a hardcode static IP. This will NAT translate with an internal IP and also to the outside internet. The router would become 11.10.X.X, but nat would change this into a internet ip. This would be known as a gateway address. At the workstation level, the router would become a gateway address. I use static at home with 2 routers, 10 servers, and two dsl connections.

When defining a static IP address you have to hardcode in the DNS entries from your ISP. Otherwise the connection will fail to the internet. For instance:

11.10.1.29
255.255.255.0
GW = 11.10.1.254

DNS X.X.X.X (ISP)
X.X.X.X (ISP)
