I want to know if a CD-Drive could be shared in a small home network. one of the pc has a cd drive and we want to share it. please let me know if its possible n if yes, then how?

Yes, it can be shared. In windows explorer, right-click ont he drive and select "Sharing & Security". Then on the sharing tab set the drive up to be shared.

You can then access the drives contents on the network through the share name or even map it as a drive on one of the other computers.

If you map the share as a drive it will appear as a network drive. It will NOT be able to be used to burn remotely.

Yes, a CD-ROM drive can be shared and accessed over the network - done it many times.

Michael J.'s instructions in the previous post for sharing the CD-ROM are very good. just follow them and you should have no problem.
