I know someone who has about 10 machines in a workgroup all handling different sides of a business and the boss wants to be able to access all mapped areas of the other computers which is fine, but how do you restrict the uses so that the boss can access all the computers but none of the other machines can have access to the bosses computer. this is in a windwos networked invironment.
Thanks.

Hello
I think all u have to do is going to your boss's computer and turn on the Guest account in his computer and then you right click on "My Computer" in your boss's computer and click manage, and choose Local users and groups and click on Users folder and then right click on the "Guest" account and choose set password and all u have to do is setting a password for the guest account by following all these steps and then no one can access your boss's computer in your local workgroup network

First of all, the Boss shouldn't have any manually configured shares on his machine. The other users will not be able to access the default Admin shares on the Boss's computer unless they know the local Admin name and password, and how to access an Admin share of course.

well the setup is as follows,
the boss is an admin on his machine jkust like all of the other users on hteir own individual computers on their workgroup but i want to be able to set it up so that he can have access to the other machines but they cant access his. how can i do that?

I've already answered that. Or are you asking specifically how to set up the shares? You said he wants to access the mapped "areas", which I assume you meant shares already configured and mapped as drives on his machine.
Perhaps you could clarify exactly what the current setup is, what you want to do, and what you need help with. Does the person who is Administering this network not know anything about what he/she is doing?
