Access Home PC from Internet

I'm going to put IIS on my PC (done this before.) I want to put my PC on the Internet just like it's a web server named http://www.myPC.com (substitute the domain name I'd get for myPC.) I'm not talking about RAS, PCAnywhere or any of that. I'm thinking of connecting the PC to a home router and connecting the router to the Internet via DSL line. I want to access the IIS web server default page on my home PC using my laptop outside my home via a dial-up connection (know how to connect to Internet via dial-up.) I want to do this only to test the concept. Don't care about security and if my home PC gets hacked. Is this doable? What, at a very high level, do I have to do? Thanks for any help !!

Its very simple. Find the public IP you are using at home and in your router, use port forwarding to forward all traffic on port 80 to your webserver IP address (which will be private IP in this case e.g 192.168.1.100) from the remote computer after to dial up, type your public IP address and click go. If you are only testing it, don't bother to use or register a domain name. Good luck.

Thanks Navneet. As a newbie, is it easy/cheap to get a public IP from my phone company (DSL provider)? Can I make the private IP static or is it better/possible to get it from DHCP in the router? Is it best in your opinion to get the router from the DSL provider or third party? Thanks again !!
