Comment:

I am using a Cisco 2950 and I have already configured it using a script, but I am running into trouble now.

I access the switch using hyper terminal, and it asks me for the password. However when I try to type it in nothing happens. It's like my keyboard does not work!!!!!!! (Keyboard is working fine)

Any ideas?

(The enter key works, but when I push it, since I did not enter a password, it says incorrect password)

Please help!!!!

Thanks,

-Mario-

it will not show anything when you hit any keystroke is correct, thats how the way secret password works in cisco switches/routers

go to that link and follow the steps, you should be able to enter a new password

make sure hyperterm is configured for VT100

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

Good one wanderer, I never even thought of that. Also, hyper terminal needs to be configured for the following Serial Port settings:

Baud Rate: 9600
Data: 8 bit
Parity: none
Stop: 1 bit
Flow Control: none
