I have a problem on that difinition also. I I have 2 servers one has a TCP/IP protocol and some other protocols like NetBIOS and other uses only NetBIOS and some IPX. The problem is that the computer with a TCP/IP protocol can access the computer with NO TCP/IP protocol using the NET USE command. While if we use the computer with NO TCP/IP to access the other computer it will give me an error: "No Logon Server Available".
By the way, the computer with the TCP/IP is my domain controller.

Shadow guy: netbios is a non-routable protocol meant for local lan only. Netbios over ip is where netbios is encapsulated in ip so it can get routed with ip.
glenn are you really running your servers with a hodgepodge of protocols? Clearly the server has a protocol in common with the pc without tcp/ip installed. I would suspect its ipx that they have in common.
