Dear Readers and Responders I would like to enable a group of say 4 computers to use our workgroup privately. The trouble is our internet comes from another office with all their different workgroups as well. Im learning that the folders inside a workgroup which are shared are shared to all or none. So i cant just share them with the 4 computers in my workgroup as i cant make the wrokgroup private.

You can make your workgroup private by:
1. disable the guest account on all wksts 2. create same accounts/passwd on all wkgrp wksts 3. set the shares to ONLY those accounts 4. for even more security use a software firewall. "Trust" your wkgrp pcs ip addresses [need to be static not dhcp] then "don't trust" all other ip addresses. This will deny access from all other pcs to your workgroup pcs.
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.
