A few questions.

1: How do I get a Win 98/Win 98 network working? Last time I didn't use my head and used a Win XP Network setup disk and it didn't work too well..

2: Is it possible to share the internet over them without a router or whatever..?

Thanks.

Yes, but you need one of the two machines to have Win 98 SE (second edition). It contains a copy of ICS (internet Connection Sharing). Then you can have the two PCs share the internet without a router. Win 98 itself doesn't have ICS.

Win 98 SE is pretty old school now (wouldn't be worth the trouble to buy it), you may prefer to upgrade to Win ME, Win 2K, or Win XP OS (operating system) on at least one of the machines.

Or if your not into upgrading your OS, then you will need a router, or modem that supports multiple internet connections using NAT (network address translation).
