my school has recently decided to format all computers and reinstall win95 due to the crashing of many of the pc's. we have no network and i really dont want to sit and do 50 computers one at a time. like wise i dont want to sit and burn 50 copies of a cd for security reasons the school wont allow it. now does anyone have an idea for maybe imagining them through lpt 1 or possibly another way to do them all quicker than one at a time??? please help thank u in advance

Setup and configure your first computer. After your done pull the hard drive and ghost all the others with it.

Why is your school still using Win95? Microsoft stopped supporting that last year!!!
Like the first response said: Pick up a copy of Norton Ghost, configure 1 HD, then copy all the others from it. There's really no way to get around installing each computer separately; I just hope you're getting paid for this.

One other thing. All the computers you plan to ghost must have indentical hardware. So if you have 25 computers in one lab that are all alike you can install Windows 95, all drivers and software then ghost that image to the remaining 24.
If you have 25 computers in a different lab that are not identical to the first 25 then you will have to install Windows95, drivers and software and then use that image for the other remaining 24 computers.

Use Ghost to duplicate the hard drives, but if all the computers have different drivers, just follow the instructions on this page:
http://www.computing.net/howto/advanced/oemsetup/win98inst.txt
to leave a copy of the CD on the HD along with the installation of windows, THEN use ghost to duplicate the HD. That way installing all the different drivers will be a little easier.

to expand on response number 4, if you have numerous different hardware configurations in the computers you're working with, delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\ key from the registry on the model workstation (the machine you're ghosting from) before you ghost an image from it. This effectively removes all devices from the device manager, so the next time the machine (and any other machines that use the ghosted image) will detect and install drivers for all installed hardware.
