that would only work on a rough line of site wouldnt it...

i mean if their are 40 trees, 9 houses, 10 brick walls etc...

not a bad deal though, i would consider buyin if i knew more about the capabilities coz i get so peed off at wireless stability

I'm just imagining this "rough line of site" over the distance of couple miles.

Assuming this is 2.4Ghz gain antenna, line-of-sight is required. You would need this probably about 20ft in the air to go 5 miles. Unfortunately, an antenna with strong gain also has relatively narrow angle. That means better line of sight.

You probably need 900Ghz over 2000ft (under 1.5 miles).

50 feet up is more like it to get that range. Plus the power output would have to be in the watts range not milliwatts. The standard for most wireless lan devices is in the milliwatts range. Not a lot of distance but a clear signal. This setup is either a two way rf boosted antenna or it's a package with the ant. and the wi-fi card.
Please post the makers name and the model of this antenna.
