3com router - virtual server issue

i am trying to setup FTP and WEB servers with 3com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Cable/DSL Gateway on my XP desktop. I've setup the virtual servers, and set 8080 as web server, and 2121 as ftp server (as my ISP blocks the 80 and 21 ports). However, when i tried to access to the servers from other computers, either within my network or outside, all failed. Any idea what caused it? i've double checked the setting at the IIS, and they look fine. Is it something wrong with the XP security settings? I've tried to connect the cable direct to my computer, and i can access the servers via the IP itself, but failed when i use the router. Any solutions, please advise. Cheers. Alan
