i'm having trouble trying to install the software for my ethernet card. put the disk in that came with the card, the inst. tell me to run setup but there is no setup on the disk, at least that is what the screen tells me. the card is mdl. num. 3c9053x-tx-m. any advice would be appreciated since i wasted the last two days on something that should have taken about 1 hour if i had a beer in between. Thanks.

Generally I don't run the install disk when I'm installing a new network card. I have a couple of 3Com NICs myself. What I would do is put the card in, start up the computer, and when it detects the new hardware, the new hardware wizard will start, when it ask for drivers start the CD and then select the files off the CD as necessary. It always works for me. Should work for you.

Thats the problem, i think. I tried that also but it can't seem to find the correct driver on the cd. Been on with tech suppport from gateway for two days now. They can't understand. i may take work off tomorrow to call tech support at 3 com because i have no other ideas that make any sense.the cd they gave me was 3com ethernet driver 5.4.3. I just don't know what to do.
