I cannot install this stupid card!!. Windows detected card, no errors in control panel, just no green light when connected to a working cable line/LAN line. Used other cards to test laptop, works fine. DOwnloaded 3com drivers, still the same thing.. detected but no green light. Cable modem to desktop is OK.. meaning cable is good.
so is this card problem or win 98 problem... much appreciated... at the brink of pulling my hair out!!

I cannot say for sure, but I have trouble with some 3COM cards soemtimes. Like today, LOL. Seems they want to use Windows drivers when Plug and Pray kicks in. Find the oemsetup.inf file in the 3COM drivers you downloaded. Right click on it and install. Then try updating the drivers by using the update drivers in device manager properties. When it looks for drivers, browse and direct it to the newly downloaded 3COM drivers. If a little interface opens for 3COM setup, then you know you are doing it right. GL
P.S. It will also ask for the WIN98 CD so might as well stick it in or you can direct it to the .cab files if they are on your drive

Still does not work......... everything looks good in win98, but no green light...
Q: the I/O address is 1000-100h IRQ 10 but on the 3com dos setup, the card I/O can only go from 200-370 or something like, cld thatr be the problem.
don't know how to configure the card in win to the same memory
