I have been attemping to setup an FTP site on a Win 2000 server using a 3com 812 adsl router. Eveytime I try to access the ftp from outside the local LAN I receive a 3com page. I believe the problem is somewhere in the remote site configurations, can anyone help me!
Cheers Greg

Do you mean setting up a filter, if so I just setup one up from all remote sites forwarding port 20 and 21 for all tcp and udp request, the question is where do I setup the internal IP for the ftp site? I can't seem to get the static ip to work in the NAT settings.
Cheers

I don't know where in the 3Com you'd have that. Do you have the documentation that came with the router, or tried downloading it from 3Com's site? If they don't have it, that's pretty poor documentation.
Are you saying that when you assign your server a static IP address, you have trouble with it getting Internet access? Is so, make sure all three of these fields are filled in: IP, Subnet Mack, and Gateway. DNS is not that important, but it usefull if you want to browse web pages from your FTP server, which can help you verify you have connectivity.
I installed a 3Com ISDN router once, and found it very limited in it's options. It didn't even have port forwarding options. You have to forward the FTP ports, 20 and 21 to the internal IP address of your server.
