Recently, I set up two desktop PC's, one with XP Home (which has the broadband internet connection), the other with xp-pro.
I ran the Home Networking Wizard (starting with the broadband PC) and successfully setup the second PC to access the internet.
HOWEVER, when I ran the wizard-disk on a laptop with Windows 98, there was an IP Address conflict with one of the desktop PC's, and Win98 gave me the message that it had therefore disabled this interface. So, I checked the TCP/IP addresses on both desktop PC's, and noticed addresses were being assigned automatically, so to be sure that all addresses were different, I assigned the laptop as 192.168.0.1, and the other two PC's as 192.168.0.2, and 192.168.0.3. SUCCESS!! they can now all see each other and share files.PROBLEM? the original broadband PC can connect to the internet as before, but the other desktop and the laptop cannot find the connection. (They both show the "detecting proxy" dialogue at the bottom of the browser window, but fail to find the homepage)
PLEASE PLEASE, ANY IDEAS VERY WELCOME.

Personally I do not use ICS. Check out 602Lansuite. it is a proxyserver that you instal in the host machine. Free for home use for up to 5 machines.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach him to fish and you feed him for life.

Well, see,
when you are using ICS, you should configure the network such that the computer which has the connection ( broadband ) and is going to share it over the net ( act like a server ) to get the IP address 192.168.0.1 and the rest gets 192.168.0.x
I believe that might solve your problem. Please feel free should you require any further assistance,
