Ok I recently purchased a crossover cable to hook my brother's computer to mine, well It works fine for games and filesharing, but my other brother wants to join in on the fun. The brother who im already linked into has 2 NICs one for my connection and 1 for his cable modem. Well WINXP (which we have) has something called brigde network connections, I tired using this to hook into his cable unsuccessfully, the cable service just stopped working. Well one of my questions is how do I get this to work? The second is can I get another crossover cable and NIC and put the NIC in my PC (mine has one now) and link the other crossover cable to my other brothers PC, bridge the connections and we all 3 play games/share files?

You can pick up a 5 port hub for $30 - $40.
It would be much easier to setup your network. Only the computer with the cable modem would need two nics. You can share the Internet with Internet Connection Sharing, which is built into the XP machine.
By the way, the crossover cable won't work with the hub, you will need a standard cable.
