2dlink routers on same network

Specs: Windows Vista, intel core 2 duo T5800 ram=4gb
I have a D-link wbr-1310 wireless router connected to my modem
i also have a d-link Di-704P which is connected to the wbr-1310

i want my laptop wich is connected to the di-704P to be able to connect to the internet and the rest of the network

is this possible??

i have disabled the dhcp server and set a static ip and i still cant connect

heres what the configuration looks like right now

It would appear you are connnecting the downstream router via its wan port.

If that is the case you can't disable dhcp on it unless you do a static assignment to the pc.

The pc and gateway entry can not be in the same subnet as your existing lan. So if the gateway to the internet is the downstream router needs to be

Normally you would just turn the ds router into a glorified access point by connecting via only its lan ports and configuring a static ip in your first routers subnet.
