Im trying to connect my two computers. They both have Intel Pro/100+ adapters, and the newer one has a built in rj45 port. im wondering if i can network using the two intel adapters and how? any help is appreciated...

All you need is a crossover cable to connect the two PC's and then run the network setup wizard in My Networks Places. Then reboot.

would that be the cord that runs from m ethernet port to the cable modem??? and what if i only have one monitor lol. (kvm switch maybe?)

No. Use straighthrough CAT5 in lieu of crossover. You will also need a hub to connect the two pcs to the modem.

You can do it without a hub or a modem with a crossover cable. If you want to spend the extra money or you have a high speed connection get a cat5 and a router, otherwise just get a crossover.
