Hi all...
I am running a 2003 server and trying to hook up some computers under a domain. Mostly all of the computers are up and running expect for a few with random issues. However this one in particular I never had.
When attempting to log in with a client under Windows XP I receive the error "The current time on this computer and the current time on the network are different. For more information about Date/Time properties, see help and support. To log on, contatct your administrator."
I checked the system time on both the server and client and they both are relativly close (off by a few seconds or so) and in the same time zone. However I dont recall this to be a requirement for logging onto a server. I have about 10 computers under this specific domain and none have this problem.
Thanks for looking!

Did you check the Micosoft website for help? I just can't understand why people post things here that can be found on the vendor websites, I can understand if you looked all the place and could not find anything on this, but I am 100 percent sure if you went to the MS website you would find someting on this or did a search on google and see if anyone else has this problem .

Hi sznsx!
Had this problem ourselves recently... and couldn't find anything on the web about it
(apart from your request for help, and that "useless" comment Brian made about checking for things before asking for help. What a macaroon, someone complaining about people who don't check, and he doesn't check himself to find out that there is no help out there!!).
Anyhow, enough complaining about Brian, and to your problem...
What I found was that after having a break away from the problem, we went back to check the computers (which was only a few seconds off the network time, also!) and found that the day/date was actually wrong!!! We were so tired, and focused on the specific time, we missed that the date was what was incorrect!!! Stupid enough mistake but can happen to anyone.
I hope this helps!!
David..

Actually we have run across this at my company a few times. I found on Technet that there is actually a DOS command you can use: w32tm /resync /rediscover
This will force the computer to find the network time server and get the correct time and date. Here is the link from MS for more info on it:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/xpmanaged/27_xpwts.mspxI hope that helps you out a little.
-Bill
