I use XP pro, and I'm on a large multi-version Win network, and I have no problems with file sharing except when it comes to 2000 and xp. I did the manual install of NetBuoi, and all other network functions are fine. I have checked permissions etc on my xp machine, and set up the same user accounts on both machines. However, from 2000 it won't even get far enough to show my xp folders. Going the other direction (XP 2 2k) I have no problems. Both machines show up in my workgroup, but 2k to XP connection doesn't seem possible! Is it?
I don't think that is my situation, because all other 'low version' windows can see me just fine. It's just 2000 that can't. If anything, 98 would be a low version, not 2000.

I love hearing sh*t like this. This is the reason M$ rules the desktop market, because their stuff is so flaky that they can't figure out how the h*ll to implement their network stack from one version to the next.
