It is possible but it won't achieve anything and will just be an unnecessary complication.

If you hookup two routers in the same network, DHCP will have to be disabled in one and that is where most of the protection comes from.

I have a router and a Switch hooked together but the router is on the inside so it slows it down a bit :( the only reason i have it thouogh is for wireless and bedcause i need 2 rooms with 4+ ports :) neways your best to stick with 1 router

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. For instance, it might be beneficial if you want to have machines on two different internal networks. My Cable provider allows me several IPs, so I could connect a switch to the modem and then connect two routers to the switch (each for a different network schema). I could then put my servers (FTP and Web) in one network and my user machines on the other to keep them separate and provide a little more security.

You*could* attatch them in-line (and use DHCP on both contrary to what stuart said - they just need to be DHCP for different networks). But, the added benefit is minimal. If they can get through one router, they can certainly get through two.
