My Laptop has Wireless N, all the other devices on my network DO NOT and my router (D-LINK DGE5400). It's either Wireless N, or wireless A/B/G - Cant have both - diff freq.
--------------
So I want to hook up another router that will support all the wireless protocals, able to get internet no problem but unable to communicate with each other - this i'm sure is something stupid but i just can't seee it. HELP!!! STEP BY STEP FOR EACH ROUTER PLEASE :)
Thanks

Connect the WAN port of the second router to a LAN port on the first router. Make sure that DHCP is off on the second router and everything is on the same subnet. Use static IPs if necessary.

Just my opinion here but 11n is a waste of time at this point being as how it's still not standardized. Unless your laptop's wireless NIC is the same manufacturer as your router, there's a very good chance they won't even work together.

If it were me, I'd just run it in G and leave it at that. It would save you a lot of hassle and the expense of a second router.

If it's speed you want, wired is a far better solution than wireless so plug your laptop in.
