Hi, I am currently helping a friend set up wireless printing and have run into a dilemma. They have wireless internet set up, and they have a network enabled printer, but due to outlet requirements the priner and router cannot be in the same room... Is there any way I can plug a second wireless router in near the printer and have the computers either access 2 networks, or have both routers on the same network? They are both Linksys wireless G broadband routers by the way. Any help would be appreciated.

Disable DHCP on the second router and use it as a hub/switch.

Specifically you do not want two networks. PC/Printers on one won't be able to communication with the other network.

If you were thinking that one wireless router would talk to another wireless router wirelessly - that is a feature in some but not all routers.

You mention outlets as in network wall jacks. That indicates that the outlets home run to somewhere.
You may not need a second switch/router if this is the case.
Ideally you would place the router in this location and straight run from outlets to the router.

Install dd-wrt on the one you want to put near the printer and set the IP to 192.168.1.2. Disable DHCP and set it to client bridge mode.
