Is it possible to use 2 routers on on line. One router plugged in downstairs in a BT Socket and 1 plugged in upstairs to another phone socket?

I'm not familiar with UK wiring but here in Canada, or in the US, that wouldn't work. Our highspeed xDSL comes in through the phone line, but then goes into a "modem" and from that, into the router.

In order to utilize two routers here, you would need a network connection running from router 1 to router 2.
