I have to make due with this equipment, so bear with me.

I have a wired Linksys router which is connected via ppoe to the internet. To that I have several computers and another hub.

I also have a wirless SMC Barricade router that I have several laptops wirelessly connected.

I have the SMC connected to the Linksys (through one of the ports)

I can surf with all of the computers (wired and wireless) but the wired can't see the wireless for file sharing and vice versa.

I'm running XP on all the pc's and firewall is turned off.

The default IP address on the Linksys (wired) is 192.168.1.1

The default IP address on the SMC (Wireless) is 192.168.2.1

I know they're on different subnets but I can't seem to change them to the same one at the same time.

DHCP is enabled.

How do I correctly set this up so all the pc's (wired and wireless) can get along and see one another?

Thanks

You were close, they actually are on different NETWORKS

A class C, 192.168.1.x is (private) an entire class C

Change your IP on the wireless to 198.168.1.50 or something. Or subnet it out in the 4th octet...

They won't communicate because they are on different networks, but they will get on the net together. The routers are isolating the traffic. Put them on the same network and they will work fine, or setup a static link between them.

Thank you for the great question. Very worth while!

Check and see if both are setup to run DHCP. That can often impede two nodes from being on the same network. They recognize each other as DHCP servers and fail.
