I have 1 LinkSys Router connected to the cable modem and my PC connected to the router. I've bought laptop recently so I decided to add another router to the network - D-Link Wireless wich I pluged to the existing router. Linksys is 192.168.0.0/24 and D-Link is 192.168.1.0/24.
I can see (ping) my pc from the laptop but I can't access laptop network from the pc. Anybody knows how to make it work? Thanks!

may i ask why you're adding another router? I wouldnt see the need for this, other than to add more ports. In this case, you might want to disable DHCP on the D-Link, and assign it a 192.168.1.2/24 address on this this network. There could be conflicts with the default addresses assigned to each of the routers.

In your case the D-Link will only be used as a switch; you won't be needing or using its routing (NAT) capabilities. Disable the DCHP server on the D-Link and connect your network cable from one of the Linksys LAN ports to one of the D-Link's LAN ports.

The Dlink I assume you are using for its wireless capabilities if this is the case use it instead of the linksys. you dont need 2 routers.....

Hi:

I have a similar setup and I tried the advice above. I disabled the DHCP on my D-link 524 and now I cannot access the router @ 192.168.0.1 to set the IP?

Thoughts?
Darryl
