Hey. My bro just moved back home and he has a linksys 4 port router and I have one as well. He also has DSL, and me cable. I was wondering if theres anyway I can hook the 2 connections together and share the bandwidth on one full network. We also have 6 others computers in the house that used to use my connection(I have a linksys switch that the router uplinks to). I just want it so all computers can be on the same network for sharing files/printers along with sharing the internet connections. Thanks

Yes. Here is what you can do will all the devices you have.
Hook up one router to each connection (cable and DSL). Then connect the computers as you please. Connect each router to the switch. All computers are networked.
There are also routers (about $400) that take two internet connections (of any type) and essentially double your speed. Nexland makes one. I would be fascinated to see a cable and DSL combination.

400 is kinda high, and I would rather have it all on 1 box, are there any others like this but cheaper? Unless doing it with the 2 linksys boxes will make sure everyone is sharing both connections. thanks for the help

Well, your problem with 2 routers is that the computers (assuming one NIC in each) must each choose a connection.
Search google for dual/multi wan routers. Here is a Hawking (much less expensive).
http://www.hawkingtech.com/prodSpec.php?ProdID=101SMC may also make one. You can try Linksys, D-Link, etc. also.
There may also be a free Linux solution. This I have not researched recently. Give a look at Freesco (Free ciSCO).
http://www.freesco.org/I would personally pursue a dual-wan router. Routers drop in price all the time.

Thanks, I checked SMC and they dont have anything nor do the other router companys, so i think to avoid the cost of 300-400 bucks on a dual router. I will get the hawkings, and uplink to my linksys 5 port switch. ty for all the great help. also I just found out that i live less then a mile from the CO to the DSL company.
