Hi all,
My company uses a T1 line and connects several Coldwell Banker offices all over nothern california. The internet connection can get really slow at times during the day.
My office also has a DSL connection that consistantly gets a 4mb+ download speed!
I have 2 NICs in my computer and I can successfully switch between the two to access either the High Speed internet or to access my Network.
Question: Is there a way to setup either internet explorer or my network cards so that the internet access is always routed through the DSL? I would like to have access to the network and high speed DSL Internet access at both times.THANKS!

Yup you can. Find out the DNS server addresses for you DSL provider. Go into the TCP/IP properties for the NIC attached to the DSL line and enter your providers DNS server addresses. Leave the DSL IP settings on dynamicly assigned (I assume it uses DHCP). Now go into the TCP/IP properties for LAN make sure there are no DNS servers listed for this connection.
When this is done, Internet explorer should use the DSL line to resolve internet addresses. Your system should now use the DSL line for surfing providing your default gateway (the first network router you computer will use) is on the DSL NIC.
Try this for now and let me know how you get on.

The Dns Setting is on on the DSL NIC and the setting for DNS is still automatically being assigned for the LAN Nic.
WHen I run a tracert to an outside address it still appears that my computer is going through the LAN Network settings first. ALso the connection is still somewhat slow.
DO I need to specify a static IP address on the LAN Nic in order to set the default gateway to the one for the DSL.. or will that even work. It seems like that is the only way I could get the default gateway to the one for the DSL. but then would the network access still fuction correctly?
Thanks so much for your time on this question.
COnfused,
Ryan
