2 NIC cards for 2 LAN

I have installed 2 NIC cards into 2 computers under NT. Now the 2 card work correctly (ping works for 2 ip's), but I want to know how they can be in two different LAN at the same time. Thanks.

When you say "LAN" do you mean ip network? If so, if you want two computers on two different ip addresses to talk to eachother you need a router. I router is used to connect different networks together into one (internet).

if you want a PC on two seperate LAN's you probably want to multi home it by placing 2 NIC's in the machine and assinging each card a valid IP for each network.

alias your interface if you are attached to a device that allows you to listen on a different subnet. Say a router or vlan situ. I don't know if you can do this in NT...

Windows NT can handle multipe NICs in separate IP subnets. If you want network traffic to pass trough the NICs from one network to another, you need to enable "IP Forwarding" in Network Properties. This is what the term multihomed refers to and the NT box will act as a router...

I am interested to this. I have two nics in my W2k server one works fine for the domain with a private IP address, the second, with a public IP doesn't work, no traffic. If I have to enable IP forwording, can someone tell me how to do in W2k?
