I have a router connected to one ethernet card that sends music files to another location wireless. I have also a DSL connection plugged in to a second ethernet card that is not wireless. I must disable one to run the other in my devise manager. How can I get w98 to let me run both at the same time?

Looks like it could be something to do with subnets here:

Wanderer,

when I do a run-ipconfig, a dos menu
pops up for a second and disappears before I can read it.

Open Command Prompt (Start / Progrms / Accessories / Command Prompt) and run IPCONFIG again.

Adapter 1 needs an Ip address. If this is the one connected to the DSL router, then it should be picking up its address from there. Open the connection's properties and make sure the card is configured for DHCP.
