2 machine LAN internet shareing

I have win xp in a host machine i run the setup wizard and it didnīt work. I set up manually the ip(192.168.0.1) subnet mask (255.255.255.0) in the client machine with win Me (192.168.0.2), subnet mask(255.255.255.0) and the gateway (192.168.0.1) i can share files but i canīt share internet conection. what can y do?

when you enable internet connection sharing, the host machine will act as a DHCP server giving your winme machine an ip, default gateway and dns settings. You cant just set these settings yourself I don't think.
Run the wizard again or just enable it in the properties of the dialup connection.
