when ever i try to sign into my router it asks for my password again. this is what it says (A username and password are being requested by http://192.168.1.1. The site says: "WRT160Nv3")

If it is the factory Name and Password then probably UN:Admin PW:Admin. It is different for different models. Get the manual provided with the router and it will tell you.
For Linksys routers the default is to leave the username blank and the password is 'admin' - if these don't work then they may have been changed during installation in which case you need to reset the router - instructions for that are in the manual, or on the Linksys website.
