16-bit icons in RDC

Specs: Windows XP Pro, 3.0 Intel P4 478
After going into performance settings (r-click My Computer/Properties/Advanced/Performance settings/Visual Effects) over a remote connection and turning off all visual effects, my icons (all) went to what appears to be 16-bit. I put the visual settings back but the icons stuck. Everything is fine when I sit down at the machine and use it locally but icons are 16-bit whenever I go into Remote Desktop. This is a screenshot of the session (chopped obviously)

I there there is a connection setting that basically says on slow connections use lower speed requirement displays.

Try changing connection type,

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

There is but that setting is found on the connecting computer stored in the .rdp config file under My Documents. I can remote all of my home computers just fine from any other, but Server (named for simplicity) always has 16 bit icons when it is remote controlled by any other computer. I am woundering if there is a setting on Server that is causing this.
