Comment: Has anyone been successful in installing a 16 bit wireless adapter on a Windows 98 SE laptop and use WPA security? I've seen some 16 bit cards out there and one even supports WPA. I know Win98 doesn't support WPA but there are ways around this. What card did you use? What software did you use to enable WPA on Win98? I have an old laptop that won't take XP and was hoping to use this on my network instead of throwing it out. Jeff

Reply: (edit)Surely the Software Application which comes with the card handles the WPA not Windows 98!

Reply: (edit)I was hoping for that but wasn't sure. I was looking to buy this card from Newegg. SMC EliteConnect SMC2532W-B which seems to support Win98 and WPA. Jeff

Reply: (edit) That is a function of the wireless card and the supplicant software that comes with the card .
