10/100 must run at 10mbps?

My network set up is 3 pcs with 10/100 nic's connected to a 10/100 hub, the problem is we all have to set our nic's to 10mbps half duplex for the network to work otherwise they just say network cable unplugged ... help!!!

Doesn't sound like your hub is working right. Sounds like it is a 10mb hub not 10/100 with autosense. You should be able to set the nic to 'auto' for speed and it will negociate with the hub for the correct speed. Make sure your straight thur patch cables are cat5 not cat3 or 100mb is not supported

Its definately a 10/100 hub and the cables are definately cat5 strange isnt it.
