Solved 1 out of 3 PCs not connected to internet (FIXED)

November 16, 2015 at 13:49:38
Specs: Windows 10 Pro 10.0.10240, Intel i5-2500K 3.3GHz/8.00 GB
I have three computers at home, two desktops(ethernet) and one laptop(wireless), all running Windows 10.

The laptop and one of the desktops(Intel Ethernet) can be seen in the and accessed in the network. The other desktop(Realtek Ethernet) used to be able to, until one week ago, then it was no longer visible to the other two, but could see them.

After reading multiple forums, I tried restarting the router and also updated the Realtek driver to the most recent one. Now the desktop can be seen by the other two, but get an error stating "Windows can't communicate with the device or resource" and that it is available, but not responding to connection attempts.

I recommend setting up one or more shared folders on each computer so that you can drop files into these folder that you want to share. Then you just need to manage the sharing rights of these folders so show all of the persons log ins that may use these folders from all machines. Right click on the folder, Properties, Share (turn on sharing), advanced sharing, and set each person's rights.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Thanks for the responses.

The folders do have sharing approved on all three machines. I do not use homegroup since they all connect through the same router.

My problem is now solved. The IT guy at my work suggested that see if my AV, Vipre Internet Security, was causing the problem. I turned it off and everything connected. I uninstalled it and did a clean install and everything still works. The IT guy suggested that it is probably just an error within Vipre due to the Windows upgrade blocking incoming traffic.

I think this is the problem related to sharing. so you need to check it properly.
