XP is slow with Novell Client 4.83

We recently bought all new computers with XP Pro and have noticed that all of our netowrk applications are much slower than they were with our older Windows 98 machines. I've modified the Norton Antivirus settings to skip the major folders. Any other suggestions?

Unless you are running Netware 6 I would stay away from the 4.9 client!!! When we first started to replace our 98 clients with 2000/XP we had the same problem and the only way I have found to return the speed back to normal is to remove the Novell client, reboot, then remove TCP/IP, reboot, then reinstall the client (483sp2) and TCP/IP. Its a pain to do and if you have eaiser meathods let us know.

It is the spoolsv.exe that goes crazy and uses up to 100 percent of the cpu. We upgraded to 4.83 sp2 and were fine--have used 4.9 with NW5.0 without problems so far.
