Replacing 95/98 clients with XP Pro SP1. There is a Netware 5 server running IP and a Netware 4.12 server running IPX. Installed NW Client 4.83 SP2 and can log onto Netware 5 server using NDS OK but cannot access Netware 4.12 server at all. The logon script comes up with error 8884 "The specified server is unknown" when trying to map a drive. I believe the user accounts are OK. Now here is the funny thing. I got it working once by changing a client setting to off "Limit SAP broadcasts" but cannot repeat it. I know it is possible since it worked once.

Do you have 1 tree with 2 server ? If you have 1 tree, you must have IPX also on NW5 ( for sync NDS ). Also on each workstation ( that need to access to NW4.11 ) you must have IPX. Authencation, map, capture on NW411 need IPX.

The network people had filtered out broadcasts and didn't tell me. Once the filter was removed, it work OK.
