1/ make sur you've have copied the win95 cabs, the Novell Netware client setup files (v2.5 ou v3.11), and the latest 3c905 nic driver on your hard drive

2/ erase the network configuration and delete the nic in the installed components

3/ reboot. Win95 will detect a new nic and ask for the driver.

4/ delete netbios and netbeui protocol, and add Microsoft IPX/SPX compatible transport protocol and Microsoft TCP/IP protocol. add *Microsoft* netware client and reboot.

5/ normally, you may got a BINDERY connection to you NW411 server. Then install Netware Novell client (v2.5 if possible, otherwise v3.11 but if so, upgrade you'r 4.11 server to SP6A)

I think solution #3 is the best solution but...... if still you don't get novell logon prompt, please send a screen dump of network neighbour/properties.

Which is the Client instaled before the crash ??

Netware or Microsoft ??

If it were Netware, you have to uninstall it by using unc32.exe in Netware Client CD, because the windows registry !!

Is the server use Netware IP product??
If so you have to use TCP/IP protocol Stack from Netware Client by Novell

Try to use only Ipx/spx.

Is the server working with other client ??
If no try so see server lan configuration by type Config at server console

It is easier to use the Novell client, available from novells web site. Also make sure you have configured the right frame for the IPX and also the right connector on the card if it is a combo

Cheers

To connect to the internet via DUN, you have to make sure you have the tcp/ip protocal installed from the cab files.
(not to mention the dial up adapter should be installed to)

Once you have that settled, open the properties on both of them... the dial up adapter should be (in the binding tab) checked next to the tcp/ip protocal, but not by anything else.... and in the tcp/ip protocal binding, the microsoft network box should be checked and not the novell network box.... its a whole huge mess...

the scary part is that if you connect with aol, this doesn't happen. *shiver* it's scary to think of aol in a good light.
