Anyone help me connect Win XP Pro to Novell
File Server, I have 4.83 client, tried all this, probably very basic, but knowledege limited. ie What do I know about IP/IPX?
Not a lot, I just want to get to my data why cant I see my Server, Day 4, No Hair

Yes it does
My computer is called ADM, the server is FS1
I can never see FS1, even if I set it as the prefered server, It does however, if i go to advanced options eventually showe me me ADM, which I think is strange, I have put no information in the properties of client for netware 4.83 in the tree section.
I have insalled the client as Bindery
I have to deal with some other things for a few hours, but eagerly await any help you may have
I ran some tests on pinging and it passed them all, what this means I know not

By the client stopping to have you login tells me that it see's the network. You say that your network is running Bindery. You probably are running IPS/SPX and/or NetBUI also. I would actually try to put the 3.32 client on the XP workstation. Setting it up for a Bindery connection. What is messing me up is netware 3.12 and XP. I would definetly run 4.83 on a Win2K or XP but I'm not sure in a 3.12 network. Maybe I can't see the trees for the forest. You can give the 3.32 client a try. I just don't know if the XP will reject it, I wouldn't think it would.
Let me know what happens if you decide to try the 3.32 client. I will continue to gather a little more information. I know I am having a brain fart right now because this is not a hard problem. There is just something that I am missing.

You have to make sure you specify your frame type under the properties of NWLink IPX/NetBIOS.... in the Local Area Connection properties.
