Win XP connecting to Novell 4.11

I have some new WinXP laptops that will logon to a Netware 4.12 Server and a Win2000 Domain Controller to access Exchange. I have loaded the NW CLient 4.83 but after supplying the username forthe Novel Server I get a message about being unable to access the Domain Controller. If I uninstall NW Client, I can log on to the Domain, but obviously can't see the Novell Server. I am running IP on both servers and also IPX on the Novell Server. THe Win95 and 98 Clients do not have this problem.
