W2k & Novell WNT48e Long File Names

Comment:
I've got a new W2k system and I can't see long file names on the network drives. The local drives display the long names fine.
Using either an application or Windows Explorer all network file names are truncated to 8.3 format. All of my other systems (Win9x, WinNTv4, W2k) work just fine.
I'm dropping this in the Novell forum because when I uninstall the Novell Client (WNT48e) and reinstall the Windows Client for Novell then the long file names appear just fine. I then uninstall the Windows client and reinstall the Novell client and the file names are truncated again.
Anybody have any thoughts on this? I've tried the Novell forum. No replies. Any help out there?

I have the same problem. Windows 98 PCs have no problems seeing the long file names on the Novell servers, but the Win2k PCs give the error message of invalid file name, or something similar. All of the batch files that I have used on 95 PCs do not work under the Win2k Command Line I/F. Are there some parameters to set for recognition of long file names from within a DOS window?
