VPN problems

CPU/Ram: 2ghz

My company has a vpn set up. You can connect in and it works fine. But you can't see any of the computers. Normally you'd just go down to the start menu and search for a computers name and it would come up. I called and asked around people say it may be the ipx and the such because of novell. Any ideas?
