We are having VERY strange printer problems at the moment.

We are running a mixture of Win95 and WinXP Pro machines on our Novell network. Everything was working fine until we upgraded the server from NetWare 5 to 5.1, after which the printer problems started.

What now happens is users logged into the WinXP machines can print fine, but users logged into Win95 machines cannot print to either networked printers OR local printers. The admin user can print from anywhere.

I know it sounds strange but that is exactly what is happening. Anyone any ideas?

Are you using NDPS? Also, what service pack version of NW5.1 did you upgrade to?

Reason I ask is because NDPS has the ability to ERASE printer drivers on a local machine so that you can "force" printing to a network printer.

If you are running NDPS and NW5.1 SP4 then you may have a problem in that some distributions of that service pack did not decompress the printer drivers properly.

Post some more info, and maybe I can help further.

Thanks for the reply. No we are not using NDPS at all and we have SP6e. We have now managed to get all network printers working, but not local printers.....
