I have a few questions for you:
what version Novell?
if 5x are you using NDPS?
are u using JetDirects?

hp only supports NDPS 5x they may work and then spotaneously not. you must use NDPS i have got away with not but not recomended . I had 25 printers spontaneously stop working. also the printers may be sleeping. I cant remember the make but they would sleep no known fix. in the jetadmin change to bitronics

I had this same problem on our Philips NT Network. I did the following and it fixed the problem. Click 'Start', then 'Settings', then printers. Highlight the printer from the list that you want to print to. Then click on 'Printer' and choose 'Properties.' Under the "Details" tab you will see "Print to the following port:” Enter and / or correct the proper network properties here for the printer you are working with.

In my case, somebody had somehow changed the printer to the default LP2 port, and all I had to do was change it to the proper network port. And all of my documents started printing up.

Hope this helps. :-)

I have the same problem on my Novell network
NW5.X and the best solution I have seen is to turn off the pinter for a few minutes and the suspect machine. Then boot them back up.
This happens with all of my HP printers(JET DIRECT and NDPS). This is a pain in the ass but it works. I am not about to delete over 100 users and recreate their profiles that is way too much work for some simple quick fix like this.

through it to 23 users and it is working properly but some time it stop working ang give error message on machine user intervention is required and use printer offline. and it stops printing.
when I restarted the printer and clear the error message the printer start woking again.
