usb device drive takes f drive

Comment:
Is there a way that I can ensure any removable drive (possibly different makes) can always automatically be assigned drive letter B. At preset, unless configured USB removable drives are stealing the first n/w drive (F).

Each drive (hard, floppy or USB) has its own id. Therefore if you assign drive letter B to your USB drive every time you insert it it will be assigned to drive letter B. But if you will give another USB device this letter (B) you will have to reassign your USB device again on the next connection. On all XP machines the USB device will take the first letter after th hard drives (most likly drive F) but not on pre XP OS. On 2000 machine, for example, the USB device will take the next free drive letter K, L or any other.
