Upgrading to nw6 from overlay

I am trying to upgrade nw 4.2 to nw6. I have installed nw4sp9, run deployement manager, etc. When trying to install from nw6sp2 overlay cd, the install hangs after loading cdrom drivers. I installed new Sony cd. Nw4.2 registers the cdrom. I can even mount the netware 6 volume from cd. CD device list shows the proper cd.
However, install hangs at transferring unicodes which load right after cd.
